Two things that can hinder my progress and alter the direction of my path are:
1. trying to control everything that happens in my life and around me, and
2. allowing myself to have too much idle time.
Too much idle time creates space for complacency and laziness. These are poisonous to anyone with a motivated heart or ambition – which is possible for everyone.
I should never try to control everything around me or dictate the course of my life. This mindset and behavior eliminate the space needed for God and others to work in my life. Life is bigger than you and me.
Give yourself structure and purpose. We are God’s creation and hold too much value to waste our lives just sitting around. However, thinking we have all the answers and solutions for every problem we’ll face is a grave mistake.
A wise person practices acceptance, seeks direction, and works diligently to find solutions.
Have a great week,
Neal
