My first priority should be to check myself before any other person or thing.
If I am in poor shape, my performance will follow. When I address those things and prepare well, I am able to be my "best" self.
I have witnessed much great talent fail as a result of unaddressed addictions, sicknesses, and unhealthy behaviors. If your heart and soul are compromised, the things your body can do will mean very little, in time.
“Unless the man is master of his soul all other kinds of mastery amount to little.”
— Theodore Roosevelt
We must take good care of ourselves, so that we may be exactly who we were created to be.
I don’t compromise my beliefs for peer approval and I don’t change who I am, to gain more popularity or good connections. To lose authenticity, is to decrease in value. To be true or original, one must be authentic.
Authenticity is priceless.
Have a great week!
