Sometimes, the grass is greener on the other side because it’s fake.
I have seen many eager young professionals (and some not so young) fall victim to the deceptive nature of pursuing “a more lucrative opportunity” or “a job with a better future,” that fails to be either one or anything else.
Sometimes, it’s too good to be true because it isn’t true. Most times, the new opportunity is the same car with a different color of paint, or a different body style with the same engine. Don’t fall for it.
Most importantly, make sure you don’t take people and opportunities for granted. Love your people and do a good job when someone trusts you with their business. Do the best you can with what you have and get the most out of your relationships and your job experiences.
You may already have everything you need!
Have a great week,
Neal
