With one decision, you can change everything.

I have made some very costly decisions in my life. A few of those decisions dramatically changed the direction of my life (for years at a time). My decision to start drinking alcohol created a pattern of poor decisions around my drinking that gradually became worse and worse. On the other hand, I made illegal decisions that created immediate problems – some very severe. The best decisions I have made in my life have been related to my sobriety, my faith, and my health. These were big decisions that require consistent daily choices in order to be maintained.

While it is important to recognize how many decisions we make and how often we make them, we should never lose sight of the significance or power behind a single decision. For this reason, I seek direction in Scripture, books, and those who are God-centered and wise. I keep these things and people close to me on a daily basis. With godly direction and good influence, I am more intentional about making good decisions.

Much of my life has been spent going in the “wrong direction,” but that all changed with one decision to give my life over to God. I was really unhealthy and physically out of shape until I made the decision to start working out and exercising consistently. I will live a much better life, and potentially a much longer one, thanks to my decision to start exercising and building muscle. Today, I want to challenge you to make the decision to be good to yourself – make decisions that will benefit your health and wellbeing, as well as the wellbeing of those around you. If you are doing well, you can help those around you.

Have a great week – the decision is yours!
