REST

Rest is a time to direct our attention to things other than work; it is not limited to when we are tired.

Rest is necessary for growth and other important processes to take place. Muscles grow when we rest, not while we train. If I only train and never rest, development cannot happen. Growth occurs during the rest period.

One of my biggest challenges in life has been my short attention span and my tendency to leave things unfinished. I struggled with these issues for a very long time, but I’ve improved significantly in recent years.

Intentional rest periods have helped me tremendously in this area. They give me an opportunity to re-center myself and gather my thoughts. Priorities can easily get lost in the daily chaos when tasks start piling up on one another.

Rest is part of the process.

Have a great week,

Neal
