DOING THE WORK

I do my best to pray about everything I struggle with in my life. I ask for strength, clarity, and the right next steps to take in every situation. I want to do well, but I want God’s blessing on my work to take priority over my personal effort.

I know that God answers prayers, but in my experience, He has blessed me with opportunities to find healing and success far more than He has with miraculous healing or instant relief. If I ask for patience, I am more likely to encounter an opportunity that tests my patience than to wake up tomorrow with the patience of a saint.

There is a place where our faith must be met with our individual effort. Taking new steps forward is an act of faith in itself. We must believe and then show our belief through new behavior. Prayer is very real and very effective, but God is not our genie. He is a loving Father.

“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”

James 2:26 NIV

Have a great week,
